Sébastien Hildebrand, Clouds
Clouds is the seventh in the TYPEWRITTEN series of artists' books, edited and printed by psw and published jointly by Timglaset and Plaugolt Satzwechsler. It contains eight typewriter drawings, mimeo printed in many different shades of blue, a poem by Anthony Etherin and five printer's summaries.
From Hildebrand's foreword:
'Today most of our data is stored in "intangible" virtual clouds. The typed series "Clouds" tries to reproduce the physical and temporal existence of these data, here symbolised by the sign Ampersand "&", which is widely used in computer coding. The series invites everyone to search in these clouds for an image of their vaporised data, with more or less effort.'
Printed on psw's Gestetner 320 mimeograph, handbound edition of 45 copies of which 29 are for sale, 32 pages, A4 size.
