I DREAM OF A FOREST. BUT IT’S A PROCESS brings together four very different poets from the Nordic countries, united by the fact that their work takes into account not only the semantic content of language but also engages with visual space.

Vilde Valerie Bjerke Torset’s (Norway) work examines the virulent and organic qualities of language and meaning in images and text that are at once beautiful and frightening.

Ragnhildur Jóhanns (Iceland) combines the sculptural and the poetic in work which transcends both book art and poetry.

Tommi Musturi (Finland) contributes energetic digital abstracts which approach asemic writing and also presents two visual pieces based on the Voynich manuscript.

Morten Søndergaard’s (Denmark) work for this book combines linear poetry with photography to achieve an engulfing visual experience.

This anthology is released to coincide with the exhibition of the same name at Burley Fisher Books in London, October 2019. Both the exhibition and the anthology are part of the Nordic Poetry Festival in London, Norwich and York.
